Check out San Francisco in 4 hours
San Francisco is a great destination in and of itself. It’s also a great airport for an extended layover. If you happen to pass through SF on your way to another destination, here are some of my favorite things to get the rapid fire San Francisco experience.
Eat ramen. Duh. I know there are always new places opening so be sure to check out the latest and greatest. I went to the Orenchi Beyond and it was the perfect first meal after a red eye flight. Nothing beats a hot bowl of noodles to get your date started.
Walk through Dolores Park. I can’t believe the transformation this park has undergone over the last 10 years. It now has a huge playground area in the center of it, but it’s still a staple for hipsters and outdoorsman alike. People-watching here will have you thoroughly entertained. At the corner of the park is the Dolores Park Cafe where you can grab your drink to go and bring with you for the stroll.
Golden Gate Park. This place is huge with over 1,000 acres. You can come back here again and again and see something new. Check out the map and see what tickles your fancy. My last visit, I walked through the Japanese Tea Gardens. Be sure to check out the cafe in the middle where you can get these yummy green tea and mochi ice cream balls.
See Golden Gate Bridge from all the angles. If you’re excited about seeing the bridge, you’ll get to point out this iconic structure many many times as you drive around the city. Check it out from various beaches, parks and of course drive across it.
Lombard Street- Known as the most crooked street in the world, this curvy road is a quick spot that helps you knock out a great bucket list item. Park at the top for your photo op and then drive down the infamous road. Don’t blink or you’ll miss it, the road won’t even take you a full minute to complete!
